Perinatal Psychology Services

Creating a safe space for expecting and new parents and those trying to conceive.

Individual psychology sessions

Nurturing Mother is a unique perinatal psychology service in Perth. I create a safe space for conceiving or expecting mothers and new parents, up until three years after birth, to deepen their understanding of the emotional difficulties they may face and improve their overall well-being.

During your sessions, the approach that I take and the therapeutic relationship we form will be unique to you. Using a relational, attachment-based framework, I draw from various evidence-based approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Medicare & private health rebates

MEDICARE: If you have a Mental Health Care Plan* and a referral from your doctor, you can claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions in a year.

You’ll need to visit your GP after 6 sessions for a re-referral to access your remaining sessions.

*Your GP can write you a Mental Health Care Plan along with a referral during a consultation at your medical practice.

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE: If you have private health cover, you may be eligible for a rebate without a doctor’s referral. However, you cannot claim from both Medicare and your Health Fund simultaneously. Contact your fund for information.

Appointments

I offer appointments from my room at 80 Evandale Street, Floreat, WA 6014, on Thursdays and Fridays.

Clinic appointment fees are $220 with a $136 rebate if using a Mental Health Care Plan.

I understand how difficult it can be to leave home to go to therapy with a baby in tow. That’s why I can offer a home visiting service to select clients, depending on their presenting issues.

Please get in touch with me to see if I can travel to your suburb and if you are suitable for a home visit.

Skype or Zoom sessions are also available upon request.
